PAUCI Annual Report 2011

Dear colleagues and friends!

We are pleased to present PAUCI Annual Report for 2011 and share with you our achievements. We thank everybody who stayed with us last year and hope to continue our cooperation in future.

Training for heads of housing communities in Sumy

On 14-15 March 2012 in Sumy in the lecture hall of the Sumy Oblast Administration’s personnel training center a training was provided to the heads of housing communities operating in the city. It was an event within the project “Housing communities as a form of organization of local communities and a school of local democracy”. Project is financed by “Region in Transition" – RITA Program of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation conducted by the Education for Democracy Foundation.

Final meeting within the environmental project

A final event of the PAUC Foundation’s environmental project “Establishing School Centers for Environmental Education” took place in “Rus” Hotel in Kyiv on the 22nd of December 2011. The project was implemented with financial support of the US Embassy in Ukraine for 10 schools in different parts of Ukraine and with co-financing from the RUSAL Company for 3 schools of Mykolaiv.

Results of the project on energy consumption in schools

During July-December 2011, PAUCI Foundation implemented a project “Improving Conditions for Pupils. Implementation of Demonstration Projects on Raising Awareness and Changing Behavior on Energy Consumption in Schools” with financial support of Polish Embassy in Ukraine.

Annual Polish-German-Ukrainian Conference in Warsaw

In an effort to summarize both the whole 2011 events and provide an overview of the two decades of existence of independent Ukraine PAUCI Foundation together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation conducted on December 16, 2011 in Warsaw a conference entitled “Ukraine – 20 years of independence. Politics, economy, society”.

School Centers for Environmental Education proved their effectiveness

Within the project on establishing School Centres for Environmental Education that PAUCI Foundation implemented with financial support of US Embassy in Ukraine and RUSAL Company, schools in different regions of Ukraine have successfully implemented their pilot programs.
