Internal audit topic is new for Ukraine, while in the countries of Europe, including Poland, internal audit is a usual element of governmental structures work. The purpose of the project that PAUCI implements with financial support of Polish MFA is to make local authorities and CRO representatives familiar with internal audit principles and to introduce the internal audit into the system of management in Ukrainian regional and local authorities.
Seminars took place in 4 cities participating in the project – Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Lviv and Chernivtsi. Up to 200 representatives of local authorities and regional control and revision offices participated in the seminars. Polish and Ukrainian experts indicated difference between control and audit, disclosed stages of the audit process, explained the standards of internal audit, its organization and management.
During the next stage of project implementation a practical training will be organized in Kyiv for representatives of 4 participating cities where CRO representatives will get prepared for their first audit missions in their regions.
